You can be a non violent person and a threat to public safety. You live in a world without nuance but really I just suspect you're being emotional for whatever reason and not because you give a shite about the people who were hurt

You're being absolutely ridiculous in this thread. I guess since all he did was drive drunk we should just let him off with a pretrial diversion, since you know, it was his first one and no one was killed. He's not a violent guy.
ETA: Nuance would be if we were arguing over "what if" he hit 30 people. But that's not what we're arguing. He actually did it.
