And my Stihl blower and trimmer DO NOT always start easy. Sometimes I have to crank for 20 seconds and 25% of the time they flood. And I actually do maintain them.
Well there's your problem. Apparently you're not supposed to do that and then they run forever.

Hey Korkstand, I did a little research for you. I laid out a couple of options with Ryobi blowers and trimmers. If you dont want to pay for Ego, Ryobi is the brand you want.

Ryobi 40V

Blower with included 2.6ah battery
Trimmer with included 2.6ah battery
Grand Total: $268.00

Blower with no battery included
Trimmer with included 2.6ah battery
Spare 4ah battery
Grand Total: $337.97

Ryobi 18V One+ System

Blower with included 4ah battery
Trimmer with included 4ah battery
Grand Total: $258.00

Blower with included 4ah battery
Trimmer with no battery
Spare 2-pack of 4ah batteries
Grand Total: $307.97

if you want to spend a little more and go with Ego 56v:

Ego Blower with included 2.5ah battery
Ego trimmer with included 2.5ah battery
Grand Total: $418.00
