Uber has definitely taken a nose dive in quality of drivers and cost of service.

There will always be a revolving door of drivers once they realize they don't make the money they thought they would. In some markets, you'd lose money doing this job part-time.

Have their drivers become that shitty? I rode with Uber about 20 times while I was in Scottsdale last month and never had a single problem.
Never have any problems when I ride in Nola, either.

The news here reported that Uber drove more miles in 2016 than yellow cabs in NYC. Thats tough to comprehend due to the vast amount of yellow cabs on the streets. Mass transit ridership has dropped for the first time in several years. Streets are more congested due to the increase in vehicles.
The silver lining is that mass transit has to deal with market forces if they want to reverse the decline. That or NYC will just regulate ridesharing out of existence.
