Not what I'm asking. Why is it only Philly that would be capable of driving up the price? Are they the only team in the league with cap space besides the pelicans? Is there some other CBA type reason that they are allowed to offer more money to Jrue in particular?

Because they are the only team with possible interest in Holiday that can easily offer a max deal. The other potential teams' cap space is going to be in the low to mid $20s.

They are the only team as of right now that seems like they'd be capable of driving up the price. There isn't any CBA specific reason other than they have the cap space to do so. They have pick swap rights with Sacramento, so they can try to be competitive without worry unless SAC does something crazy in FA (not gonna happen). At some point, you have to try to get better and take advantage of all the rookie deals you have. Simmons is a good ball handler who can take pressure off Holiday and allow him to be more of a combo guard, where he appears to excel. We really need to hope them or SAC gets lucky in the lottery and they snag a PG in the draft.
