It's really hard to fathom how many safety protocols were violated to have gotten to the point that in the year of our Lord 2016, a trained police officer was using live rounds in a demonstration scenario with civilians and pointed a real loaded gun at that woman and pulled the trigger SEVERAL TIMES.

Exactly. Forget the officer who actually pulled the trigger. Who were the superior officers in charge of organizing this thing? Where were the safety protocols? This shite is literally military/police training 101. The first thing that gets figured out is "how do we make sure nobody dies?"
I know gross negligence can be hard to prove in court, but this one shouldn't be too hard for a lawyer to figure out, and get this lady's family paid.
