Personally, I'm for voter ID. Besides, it only benefits poor people to have identification. How do you expect to get out of poverty if you don't have a photo ID? You need it to get a job, own a car, cash a check.

If you want to subsidize every eligible voters ID in conjunction with these laws then that's great, but republicans won't go for it because it would undermine the reason for these laws in the first place
