Episode 24 of The Film Room

quote:

Adams' insane physical talent is evident from the moment you first put his tape on, but perhaps his biggest asset of all is the leadership and culture change he can deliver to an NFL locker room. He was the heartbeat of the Tiger defense for the last three years, and he has the toughness, work ethic, and football IQ to perform that same role in the pros as well. If your defense could use a do-it-all safety that can play multiple positions on the field while simultaneously upping the intensity level of his entire unit, then Jamal Adams is your guy. Just wind him up and watch him go - I promise you won't be disappointed.

Brett Kollmann broke down Leonard Fournette in Episode 20, and does solid analysis on a bunch of different guys in the draft.

workmanlike

that's my thoughts on Jamal. Dude just went out every game and delivered. I don't remember one game where we were saying "man Jamal had a bad game".

good luck to him, he deserves every bit of praise. Just hope he lands on a team that's good enough for him.

His intangibles are fantastic, that guy is right. His swag, intensity, etc. couple with his physical ability.

He'll instantly improve any defense that doesn't already have stellar safety play.

I've been saying (on this site) since the opening in Dallas the summer between his junior and senior year that he was the next Earl Thomas.

He has so many great highlights but him running down Lamar Jackson in the bowl game was just amazing. He made Lamar Jackson look not fast. And, Lamar Jackson is fast.

quote:

WEAKNESSES Tall for a center, losing some leverage battles because of it. Athletic ability offset by below-average core strength. Doesn't play with the pad level or leg drive to uproot defenders without help. Gets jarred by power across from him. Upper body strength needs work. Anchor will always be an issue against zero-technique nose guards. Gives into pocket pushers, creating traffic in the backfield. Defenders able to drive through his edge and redirect attempts. Can be quicker into proper positioning for reach blocks. Has difficulty securing zone blocks at times.

From NFL.com...

Can anyone guess who?

I think my favorite memory of Jamal is his "flop" in the Florida game, I think his first year. Florida player looked at the official like "WHAT??" What energy that guy has. Sure am going to miss watching him at LSU.

Not to mention that he helped win us the Ole Miss game by giving fricking Bo Wallace a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty on the series before our game winning drive.

Saints going Adams early in the first and Beck late in the first after and typical N.O. style trade.

The only scouting report anyone needs on Pocic is how he was overwhelmed by Montravious Adams. Granted, Adams is a monster --- but every player Pocic will come up against in the NFL is at least as good.

This guy sure seems like a true analyst to me. That was a great video IMO. Sure, he could have packed his video with Jamal's highlights but he actually focused more on his weaker points going forward.

Of coarse at his age, Jamal's game will improve and we can only hope that he will find himself on a team with a bright future.
