Yes, Fassbender is the face(and body) for the current line of androids made by Weyland in the Alien/Prometheus universe. This is Walter we see in this clip, but I do know that the way Prometheus is connecting into Covenant is that the Covenant crew will definitely run into David at some point in the movie. Which makes me think that the planet that Shaw and David travel to at the end of Prometheus(Paradise, aka Engineer home world) is the same planet that the colony ship Covenant is also traveling to, at a later date. Maybe Shaw and David made it to this world and were able to successfully transmit a thumbs-up signal back to Earth? Obviously this is gonna be a bad time for our Covenant crew or we wouldn't have a movie, so there's some definite shadiness going on with Shaw/David's actions regarding whatever they do to alert Earth about this place. I'm sure we will get an explanation in the movie.
Regardless, I'm excited for this movie because I think Scott will take the positives from Prometheus, leaving out many of the negatives, and the things that made Alien/Aliens great and make a movie encompassing those positive elements. Think The Martian's level of production on the Alien franchise. Fox is apparentely very excited/confident about how well this movie will be to have made it a May release, to have already had a very long screening for part of the film months ago(with very favorable feedback of what was seen from the audience), and finally just the amount of viral and overall marketing they are putting into the movie months ahead of release.

i don't think damon lindleoff is involved so we should definitely see some improvement. also rapace is apparently in the movie in a very brief cameo.
