technically they can refuse to accept 3rd country nationals.
Exactly. I highly doubt we can force them to take central American illegals over their border.

Between 55%-60% of illegals are from Mexico.
The nearly 6 million illegals that are not from Mexico what do we do with them? Mexico doesn't want them and America doesn't want them. If we spent a minimum of $1000 a piece on sending the rest back it would cost over $6 billion. That is a third of what a wall would cost.

We can't even force them, to take back Mexican nationals.
Those people don't exactly have passports stating their nations of origin. We rely on the Mexican government to identify Mexicans. They don't have to identify them if they don't want to.
Mexico could also stop drug interdiction efforts - hell, even legalize all drugs. The US could be inundated with cheap illegal drugs from Mexico.

I'm sure the President is shaking in his boots (or fashionable shoes)!

Mexico... They are in for a world of hurt.
WTF do you think they are in now, Paradise? They don't have NEARLY as much to lose as we do.
They could make things pretty miserable for us. This whole idea of US against the world is such childish bullshite.

I find the best part of the trump admin so far is watching people say what they won't accept....even though they have no choice in the matter.
I WILL NOT ACCEPT TRUMP AS PRESIDENT!!!
I WILL NOT ACCEPT THESE SANCTIONS!!

Apparently, were supposed to consult them to decide on how to secure OUR border
Why do you think that's so absurd? After all it's THEIR border too.
Wouldn't cooperation be better than simply antagonizing them?

They should have secured their border then and not openly promoted illegal immigration. You want the US to open its borders, but support Mexico closing theirs? This is bizarro world.

It's not necessarily US vs. the world, but you have to admit that Mexico doesn't care if it violates our sovereignty as a nation and they are the ones playing with fire. The entire anti-illegal immigration stance that we have right now is bolstered almost entirely by Mexico using us like a whore. Perhaps if they weren't so brazen with their disrespect for our laws we wouldn't be so hard-nosed about it.

They think this a negotiation?
Posted on 2/22/17 at 12:25 pm to WildTchoupitoulas
It's laughable that Mexico thinks they have any leverage in this. We have them by the balls economically and politically.
About time we make them deal with the consequences of mismanagement, instead of letting them export their problems here.

We are simply bringing them back to their point of entry. If mexico is allowing them to transverse, thats their problem.

We heard the same thing about Obama. A lot of it came from Trump.

if mexico wants to go to war....

How do we have them by the balls. We send just as many goods to Mexico as they send to America. The #1 export Mexico sends to the US is petroleum.
We send $200 billion to Mexico
Mexico sends about $250 billion to the US.

I don't see them helping to prevent people crossing into the USA.
They seem pretty complicit in the actions of those we are sending back.

When did Mexico get veto power over us policy?

Not soon enough. If Europe wants a trans-national government, move the UN to their territory.

quote:If you substitute "goods" for "people" then you see where the problem lies for them. Their people come here, earn money, and send it back to Mexico to fuel their economy. If their people can't come here and the ones here are sent back, that's a lot of money not put back into their economy. They have a lot to lose by us getting series with immigration.
