No matter who is coaching next year, it will be an uphill climb to get relevant again.
I just don't buy this.
You think it will be breeze for someone to just walk in and be a Final Four contender day 1?

I see no reason we can't be a tournament team with 1 or 2 good recruiting classes and a good coaching hire.
That's likely true, but will still be a struggle at the outset to turn the program around while you bring in those couple of good recruiting classes and develop that talent a little. I suspect that's why he said "next year" will be an uphill climb.

Thank you someone who gets it. Most of the posters here who disagrees with you, will tell you LSU has the best basketball players in the country. Yet none of them would be starting at the likes of Duke,UNC, Villanova etc...
Most here really dont follow basketball (besides looking up the scores) they are only here to troll the fire JJ train.
And some will quickly say well WE HAD THE #1 NBA PICK....but will ignore the problems that existed within the team because of him. One went so far to suggest that SIMMONS WAS BETTER THAN HEILD IN COLLEGE --> LINK
