If u go during the week, I'd go a few miles further on 66 and catch the Angola Prison museum. It's free and has some neat things. It's right at the prison entrance on the right

Great time!
Just a little recap. Thanks to all of those who chipped in and helped out with info!
We got out to the site around 9:00(was shooting for 8:00, but was running a little late). We were possibly the 6th car there and we began our hike. We went counter clockwise and enjoyed the beginning with the 3 falls near eachother....the interesting part was the hike over to #5. We didn't go look for 4 or 6, but the walk from #5 back to the beginning was a HIKE! I'd probably skip that side of the map next time and just do 1,2,3.... Those 3 were worth it.
On our way back in we saw soooo many people coming in to come hike. When we got to the parking area it was PACKED! We were so happy we went early so we got to enjoy the falls by ourselves or possibly with 1-2 other people. It wasn't crowded for us.
Pond Store was closed which was a downfall because I wanted to check that out, but we did stop at THE FRANCIS and got some chargrilled oysters and some bread pudding as a mid afternoon snack. We had packed our lunch and picnic'd by one of the falls.
Fun time! A short ride to get a taste of TN/NC type atmosphere. fun!
