You're not wrong; they should. The reality, though, is that there are defects in manufacturing. The Chinese make iPhones (and most Apple products for that matter), yet they are some of the most reliable in their segments.

And by the way, I saw a figure recently on the number of defective components that most major car manufacturers allow per 100,000 pieces (if memory serves correct). Most brands' supplier contracts allow for 500 defects per 100k. Lexus (Toyota's luxury brand) allows only 50 per 100k. They are not consistently rated the most reliable brand on the road by accident.

Definitely. Lexus makes a great automobile, but they have the same electric lock motors as the Toyotas. I discovered this while researching how to fix mine.
