Also, Mr. Short Sighted, if we were to legitimize illegals and put them on the books, their ability to offer cheap manual labor would instantly be negated because their labor would be subject to the same stipulations and regulations as any other employee on the books.
How can people like you not understand that?

Not necessarily. There are unique provisions, particularly in agriculture, that are not that way. To circumvent the minimum wage, workers are often paid a per box (or whatever) wage. Now, effectively, it is below minimum wage. Americans won't/don't work for that kind of wage, or in those working conditions. The only difference is, they are being paid off the books rather than on record. I'd rather have them on record and working legally.
