He was no Jedi, this is true, but one does not have to be a Jedi or a Sith to wield the Force - if you are Force sensitive that is.

His midichlorian count was just below the threshold needed to be a Jedi.

You will likely see the blind guide in several of these stand alone films, rumor is he will show up in Han Solo movie.
