I'm involved with Auburn currently. Professors I'm around are most certainly more liberal leaning than conservative - a leaning that's observed at nearly every academic institution. And, in my fairly extensive history of classes taken, I've only had 1 professor go on anything that would qualify as a "rant" with respect to politics. Most have shown their leanings but allowed the class to come to their own conclusions. Maybe I've just had good professors, though.

Regardless, no-recording policies alone are not necessarily indicative of political ideology.

Auburn is an SEC school, in the deep south, so the leftist know they can only push it so far.
