i'd say skip it. i just bought xbone s to primarily use as a streaming device, and honestly it doesn't matter if your tv has hdr or not, because none of the apps i use work properly.

the netflix app enables hdr once you click on it and stays on for all content whether hdr or not.

youtube doesn't stream in UHD.

amazon doesn't stream in UHD.

battlefield doesn't have an hdr pack released for it yet, even though it's advertised as hdr compatible. though it does look pretty great as is.

i'm not aware of any app that streams 4k/uhd content on xbox that actually works as it should tbh. the only nice thing i can say about it is that the UHD Blu-Ray player works as it should. So i'll hold onto the Xbone S until scorpio drops (assuming all the above issues are fixed) or sony decides to actually put a fricking UHD Blu-Ray player in their next update, and then i'll trade in or sell xbone one s.

Thanks, Phillip. That's what I'm thinking but I wouldn't mind being able to use 4k blurays. I just wasn't sure if they'd be worth it if I didn't have HDR on my tv.

Tiger, I really just use the apps on the TV. Really just Netflix. That's why I wanted to get this because I feel like outside of upscaling HD I don't use my tv for all it's worth.

If it helps my tv is a Sony xbr-800b
