Admittedly I know very little about Kizer and never watch ND so really have maybe seen him throw 15 passes total, but there has to be a reason so many mocks and rankings have had him as the #1 or #2 QB and a high end prospect.

People tend to put too much stock into college performances versus the raw talent an NFL team sees and wants to develop.

There has to be aspects to him that teams are liking, arm strength, accuracy, pocket presence, ability to read a defense at the line and adjust etc.

I know that the Raiders didn't give two shits about what Carr did at Fresno, they loved his quick release throwing motion, accuracy and arm strength from the get go and had him as their #1 QB on their board well before the draft.

The hate for Kizer is laughable. Someone said he's "not a team guy" lol really? Have they followed ND football? There was a whole damn documentary series on the team in 2015 when he had to step up and lead the team to a game winning drive, on the road, in the rain without ever having taken a meaningful snap. He didn't bitch when BK was an idiot and rotated Qbs against Texas this year, and came in and lit up that secondary (not that that's impressive). Notre Dame blew last season but I promise Kizer wasn't the reason for it.

ETA: The kid gave up baseball to focus solely on football, but guess he's "selfish" and not a "team guy".
