I'm relatively young so I can usually understand theses pop culture trends, even if I don't agree with them, but this one really confuses me.

Her music is basically a caricature of pop culture. It's not interesting at all. I'm not a fan of either, but both Rihanna and Lady Gaga make much better pop music IMO.

Maybe I'm getting old, but I really don't get it.

As a "pop leader" she's pretty crappy

She's a talented singer, but her new music, from what I've heard anyway, doesn't seem to showcase that anymore.

I don't get the appeal either.

Other people like things you may not. I mean Les Zepplin didn't write tunes everybody liked, they left that up to The Bee Gees.

Lots of top hits make people superstars.

are they really considered at a lower level or just haven't had the longevity Beyonce has had?

Black Lives Matter need celebrity endorsements to help mask their lack of a true message. Having Beyonce elicit raw emotions makes it easy for them to maintain their superficial cries of systemic racism.

Mary J Blige and Alicia Keys are on a whole another level or two or three above Beyoncé.

I'm with you, never understand the hype...LCD music for the masses.

And give me Tupac, Kendrick, Killer Mike,etc..over her hubby any day of the week too.

She has been elevated by the illuminati to a higher status because of Jay-Z's money.

They must kiss the ring.

According to her music: She like her baby hair with afros and her nose with Jackson nostrils.

According to real life: she has had a nose job and gets her hair professionally straightened.

Also, she keeps hot sauce in her bag. Which i assume means she has gonorrhea.

For my friends who don't understand the cultural references in Beyonce's photo shoot and Grammy performance, here's a good explanation. Oshun was an African goddess who carried twins and though I worship the one true God, I fully understand and respect HER *artistic* decision to bring representation to such a major platform.

America is currently forcing a straight white patriarchal god on its people and she's smashing that expectation, playing a role just like any actor would. So stop saying she worships demons and false gods and all that ignorant bull crap. She is a badass black woman who is full of pride and love for herself, her family and her history (who also happens to sing on one of our favorite kids worship songs to Jesus). And for the white folks, please remember not everything is for you. ??????
Happy Monday!

She's a product that many people profit from. The industry pushes her as such and so the radio stations play it and the vast chunk of America just latches on to whatever the frick comes on the radio and never branches out of that. People have bad taste.

Beyonce is an increadibly attractive woman who is also an increadibly gifted singer who has already had a long and successful career as an entertainer. Over the last 2 years, she has begun using that influence to push a political agenda. This has caused her to be lauded in the media and loathed by conservatives.
