The next game Randy Livingston had his second major knee injury and was lost for the rest of the season. For all practical purposes that was the day the music died for LSU basketball. There have been a few good seasons since, a couple of great ones but the program has never really recovered it place among the elites of college basketball. Livingston's injuries and the draconian NCAA penalties a few years later effectively stopped LSU 's 15 year run of challenging Kentucky for SEC prominence.
Randy Livingston was like Superman in a tight game. He would go into the booth and emerge in the waning minutes and just totally take over.
