When discussing politics with people that I normally don't discuss politics with, I find those with anti Trump sentiments waste no time in firing their salvos of hatred for him. It's then that I know this will not be a fair and balanced debate so I just move on.

A person accomplishes absolutely zero when talking to zealots, no matter what side of the aisle they are on.

I find that most people can't discuss political ideas without being attached to the candidate of the day.

I could discuss basically any of the standard issues......education, social security, foreign policy etcetera etcetera while never even mentioning party or individual candidates
