The polaris... The belt drive requires you to run it hard to preserve belt life. No feathering the throttle, on or off, nothing in between. The unit itself is very reliable you do the maintenance they tell you to.

Any attempt to take off slowly wears the belt.
Just give it some gas and go.
I got over 6000k miles on my original belt on polaris's old belt system from 98. Probably more than that, that's just when I sold the bike.
