It's illegal in most states to wear masks. If the local police start doing their jobs these protesters could be properly dealt with by serving felony time in prison.

Not exactly. It is illegal to wear a mask in most states if you are wearing it to avoid be identified during the act of committing a crime. So all of these protestors blocking the streets are all breaking the law.
