What Trump needs to do is sign a new executive order that doesn't "ban" shite, but just requires the kind of "extreme vetting" and other red tape that takes months or years and bury those frickers in paperwork so it works like a pocket veto, and have the ultimate decision be in the discretion of someone he trusts.

I made a comment similar to this yesterday. My thought was, does this even require an EO? State Department is in charge of their own policies and implementation. Why couldn't they just do this in house?
There are choices made daily by State regarding immigration and refugees. Obviously everyone can't come so SOMEONE is being told no.
If State says they can't properly vet anyone from Syria, how could that be challenged? How is the court qualified to decide what entails proper vetting?

What if I told you that the current refugee screening process already takes up to 2 years?
