I'm not rich by no means but don't mind spending money on quality products. Thanks for all the info ..... I called lowrance today and pretty much decided to go with the boat in a box kit.
It has the hds 7&9 and comes with the totalscan transducer, spotlight transducer, and gps point 1. I'll add the 3D module and transducer later on if I feel it is a nessisity.

This transducer does not have the greatest reviews. The Garmin's version of this (PanOptix) is excellent though. When I bought my two Lowrance units I sent in my bar code on the box and they sent me two free spotlight transducers. I sold one already and might sell the second one because i'm not sure I'm ever going to try it out.

Check out BBG Marine they had the boat in the box with 2 HDS 9s on sale not to long ago. Best prices I've been able to find.
