"So many people invested so much," in the spot, he said. "We are extremely disappointed for all the people involved" in the effort.
The Super Bowl spot was the centerpiece of an effort to position GNC as a retailer that deserves a second look. As part of its push it closed all its corporate-owned stores for one day in late December and reopened with a new look the next. In addition to the now-shelved big game spot, the company still plans print, out-of-home, digital and radio, part of what Mr. Hennion earlier characterized to Ad Age as the biggest marketing campaign in the company's history.

in 3 years most people that watch the Super Bowl on Sunday won't remember who won.

that's where we are at now. Record setting numbers each year in viewership but I'd bet the majority couldn't name the winner. So how the in the hell should we remember what commercial got ran when millions are dipping chips, grabbing a beer, taking a leak, bullshitting on the internet, face booking and trying to come off as a cool person, talking about some other commercial that was better, dreading getting up in the morning for work, etc.

On Monday morning, most people that watch it won't even know who won. Hell, I bet some people in the stadium won't either. It's an event and a party to most people.
