y'all know when the USSC nominations started getting political again?
when Bush was in the White House and he nominated Roberts
i learned this by watching Rachel Maddow's show
go look up the voting trends from the 90s when Clinton was in power (almost near-unanimous decisions)
when Roberts was up, 22 DEMs voted against
when Alito was up, 42 DEMs voted against
GOP needs to hammer this story down and thank Rachel Maddow for starting it

Well yeah the 2000 election ripped the country apart. The Dems viewed Bush as illegitimate and worked against him. That built through the W years then the Republicans doubled that down under Obama. Now we're here.
