Democrats already opened Pandora's box changing the rules for presidential appointees from 60 to 51.
Republicans will end up doing the same. It bit the Democrats on the arse that they initially changed the rule just like at some point it will bite Republicans on the arse.
The media will say it is the end of democracy even though Democrats started the ball rolling.
Trump is going to get his pick one way or the other.

y'all know when the USSC nominations started getting political again?
when Bush was in the White House and he nominated Roberts
i learned this by watching Rachel Maddow's show
go look up the voting trends from the 90s when Clinton was in power (almost near-unanimous decisions)
when Roberts was up, 22 DEMs voted against
when Alito was up, 42 DEMs voted against
GOP needs to hammer this story down and thank Rachel Maddow for starting it
