Adolph Rupp always beat us, but he couldn't stop Pete no matter who he put on him. I remember Pete going up against the great Dan Issel and Pete took him to school.
Back in the day you saw all the greats; no one left to go pro early.
Maravich, Issel, Barkley, Wilkins, Bernie and Ernie, etc.

Actually, Barkley and King left after their Junior years and Wilkins left after his sophomore year.
