As a Frenchie owner, I'll tell you my pup has been the best, most enjoyable dog I've owned in 48 years. And I currently have several dogs- all but the Frenchie are rescues. I think adopting a dog is great (obviously) but I don't think it's the better option. A person has to do what's best for them. And I don't think you'll find a FBD at your local shelter.
That said, I wouldn't buy from a pet store either.
