I would honestly be happy with any mid sized non-crossover SUV.
I like the 4Runner, but I'd also take an X-Terra, Blazer, etc. My problem with modern crossovers isn't that they have all the comfort/convenience features. It's that they look, drive, and break like minivans.
What they did to the Explorer and Pathfinder is just sad.
