There are plenty other modern revolvers chambered in .45 Colt:

Taurus Judge
Ruger Vaquero, Blackhawk
Various Smith and Wessons
I think Ruger has a DA in .45 Colt also

Important to distinguish between ..45 Colt and .45 ACP, which are different rounds with the ACP being used in semi-auto pistols.

My 1917 DA handles ACPs fine if you use the half moon clips. It will actually fire ACPs fine without them, the problem arises when you go to remove the spent cartridges and the ejector(?) may or may not grab them properly. It's not an issue if you're just shooting beer cans.
