If I mistook what you're trying to say I'm sorry, but you've kinda lost me.

For some people, carrying a very small .22 Mag revolver is certainly a good idea if the alternative is nothing at all.

Was someone disagreeing with this statement? The OP had choices. Based on those choices, we were saying the 22mag is less effective than other similar sized options.

22mag is better than nothing, but 380/9mm are better than 22mag at stopping a threat, generally speaking. You agree with that?

If that's the only option then so be it.

I think an instructor telling a whole class that they should get a 22mag revolver with a 1 inch barrel is out right stupid.

I have a 22lr snubnose revolver. Id just got with a pocket knife than carry that thing.

If anyone wants to try it, we can take it out and see if you can hit a man size target from 10 yards under stress. I bet if we took 10 people, we might get 1 or 2 hits on paper. The 1 inch barrel is her unforgiving and Id rather not shoot anyone else should that situation occur.

They are more likely to incapacitate or kill a threat if ignoring the complexities of terminal performance. What the problem here is you and others conflating stopping a threat with incapacitating/killing a threat. A threat doesn't care what you are shooting at them, they only care that they are being shot at. In that regard, .22 Mag is equal to any other firearm.
