I have an excellent argument. We have no indications that in-person fraud is happening in this country. In-person fraud is the only type of election fraud prevented by voter IDs. We do have indications from multiple sources that voter ID laws as they're written in the US are disproportionately disenfranchising to minorities (sometimes intentionally, sometimes accidentally).
Given all that, it's a solution in search of a problem. Pushing for said solution knowing that it harms individuals and solves no problems is racist.

How many times were you dropped on your head as an infant?

I have direct, first-hand knowledge of it. I was an election judge in my precinct. I handed out every ballot cast that day, and was watching for this.
In Minnesota, you can register on election day with nothing more than another registered voter "vouching" for your eligibility. They only have to say that they know you live in the precinct and sign a form.
I overheard a conversation over my shoulder where someone who had just voted (40-50 year old female) was telling a college student that she would vouch for him if he would just give her an address in the precinct. "They never check, and you can help make history." You tell me which party she voted for.
To his credit, the kid backed out, but I had also turned to give them a look. Not sure if they caught it, but they walked away a minute later.
This was in a white-bread and picket fence area just off campus from UM-Duluth. You want me to believe the same scene did not play out to completion many times over in less vigilant precincts all over the state?

If you're too stupid to get an ID then you're too stupid to vote.

Lol, no you don't. I doubt you've ever had one.

This is such nonsense. Minorities are not "disenfranchised." Getting an ID is the same process regardless of skin color. There are no special impediments for minorities. Making that claim is racist bc you assume minorities aren't capable of achieving the simple task of getting an ID. If it affects voter turnout then it's bc minorities simply didn't want to take the step to get the ID.

Voter ID will give us a metric to use in making that determination.
If you want to be proven right, you should be eager to put this tool into action.
Just think of all the "I told you so" moments you could have here.

Care to explain why they couldn't even conduct a recount in several inner city Detroit precincts?
