nice linguistics in the first quote
quote:
I voted against the new CIA Director because I worry that his desire for security will trump his defense of liberty.
More than ever before, oversight of the secretive world of intelligence is critically important.
quote:
In addition, many in Congress support a comprehensive, searchable database equipped with “public” data like “lifestyle” choices, an incredible invasion of privacy in some ways more intrusive than the English soldiers that invaded American households to search for any untaxed papers.
Advocates of such a database argue that it will only be searched after obtaining some type of court order.
These advocates fail to understand that our privacy and the Fourth Amendment are breached merely in the collection of our personal data. Our privacy is invaded first by the collection of private information and only secondarily by searching that databank.
The existence of the database itself is a violation of our right to privacy.

In a more perfect union, where civics and history are taught properly, Rand would be President.
Fear not, for at least there is still a voice of reason in DC.

It's a damn shame he got weeded out by the extreme right during the primaries.

He sounds like his daddy in that article. I love it.

If by "extreme right" you mean "his shitty campaign" then you are correct. I like his positions but there's nothing in his campaign to indicate he is ready now. I would bet a lot that his Cabinet wouldn't be as strong.
He's only 40 something. He is young enough to be the reaction to the reaction to Trump in 2032.

yea, his inability to craft cute nicknames for his opponents really showed he wasn't ready to hold the highest office...

I would never want Rand Paul to be President.
I love the guy, though.
I look at him as silent guardian kinda like Batman.

Kind of hard when unelected intelligence officials want to collect the personal information of all Americans in complete secrecy.

Go Rand! What a fricking boss!

lol. so.... People elect Rand, Rand downvotes Pompeo over privacy violation concerns, and you think Rand sucks?
How else does one "defend liberty" in a democratic Republic? Seems like a rare instance where thing worked to me...

not really surprised there's a pub who thinks that ...

The War on Terror endless of course has sadly made many citizens pliant on their own liberties.
I hope Rand keeps talking.

I swear, you retards better give me a Rand presidency in my lifetime

Keep in mind that I supported Rand in the primary, but I have a question. How come when Trump breaks ranks, he is a big government liberal, but when Rand does it he is a "man of principle"?

and little functioning brain matter.
Of course, I'm sure that pales in comparison to some random poster on a website named ljhog.

I love me some Ron, but he couldn't communicate an idea to the common folk without sounding a little kooky.
