.there are a ton of Coach O haters posting on this board.

No there aren't. He actually seems like a pretty awesome guy and someone I'd love on the staff. However, there are people like me that are concerned about the long-term viability of hiring a coach that has never had any semblance of success running a program and that requires two elite coordinators to be successful. No reason to believe we won't be golden the next couple years with Canada/Aranda running the offense and defense. O's real worth will be determined when those two leave.

He took over the exact team that had gone 4-7 in its last 11 games under Lane Kiffin after four games into the 2013 season and went 5-2. That is not a semblance???

He took over LSU after four games this season and went 6-2 with a TE's coach as OC. That's not a semblance?

Seems like you may just look for stuff to be concerned about.

Steve Ensminger appreciates your kind words. Has never been called an elite coordinator before. Hell, he didn't even want the job and had to use the old system with minor tweaks to obtain his success.

You are knocking him based upon a hypothetical circumstance that may or may not happen in the future?

You were not impressed with him firing Cam Cameron? Bradley Dale Peveto?

Not impressed with his hiring of Pete Jenkins? Matt Canada?

You think those are the only good coaching changes CEO could possibly make for the rest of his career?

All of this. Seriously, with LSU's talent, Aranda on defense and hopefully Canada changing the QB play and system for the better, LSU will be golden the next 2-3 years. The real test becomes after that. These two pretty much fell into his lap. It's really on him to find the next stars to coach both sides.

That's my whole problem with him is that he doesn't lock down one side of the ball. You can't count on one side being always good no matter who the coordinator is.

lsu2006, Dabo Swinney says hello. I agree that O's worth will be determined on the field, and on NSD.

Yes you are one of those haters. Indeed, you just proved it. By the way, I like Les Miles as a person. However, I never liked Miles as a coach because he never was a good coach from day one. Meanwhile, I can easily see that coach O is infinitely better than Miles ever was. Sure coach O didn't do a very good job previously at Ole Miss, but it wasn't all him, as he inherited a team almost totally devoid of SEC quality players. Nonetheless, he used his time at Ole Miss as a valuable learning lesson and never repeated those same errors he made while at Ole Miss either at USC or at LSU. Hence, none of those errors are even relevant anymore today because they made him a much better person and coach. Not to mention, the players and the recruits love him.

Moreover, Dabo Sweeney never was a coordinator and he just won a national title by defeating Alabama. It takes different skills to be a good head coach and coach O has those skills. Hence, with all due disrespect, your arguments are lame and utterly absurd.
