Only if youre a dumbass. Lf was dressed to play all those games. He was sitting out of Florida.

But hey I'm talking to a guy that thought freshman couldnt play when Frank solich was hired (98).

What about hiring a coach who was out of work two years ago, was a terrible failure the last time he was hired, who couldn't even get an DC job, and is about as far from an offensive whiz as you can get?

I am questioning programs who would hire that guy. Oh wait, there was only one...LSU.

If you are talking about Coach O, he was not working because he left USC. They wanted him to stay on but he turned them down.

was a terrible failure the last time he was hired,

The last time he was hired was at LSU as D-Line coach. He was then given the added responsibility of recruiting coordinator when Frank Wilson was hired to be the head coach at UTSA. Then promoted to interim head coach when Les Miles was let go. He was then promoted to head coach at the end of the regular season. Doesn't seem like a failure to me.

Before that he was D-line/recruiting coordinator at USC from 2010 to 2013 - his second stint with USC. He was promoted to interim head coach when Lane Kiffin was fired. Still don't see how this could be considered a failure by anyone besides you.

quote:

who couldn't even get an DC job,

He got two interim head coaching positions and is now the head coach of the LSU Tigers. I think that is better than getting a measly DC job.

You must be typing shite just to fill space. This has nothing to do with anything. There are a lot of head coaches in college football who are not offensive whizzes.

that's not what I said. good lord, for an alleged duke graduate you have the intellectual capacity of a potato. i said freshman weren't playing when he coached the freshman team. coaching the freshman team was akin to someone being in charge of the scout team, which is nothing like having HC experience. just admit it, you read his bio on wikipedia in a failed attempt to try to validate frank solich's experience prior to taking over the Nebraska team. you were hell bent on the notion that a blue blood program had NEVER promoted a position coach to head coach that you were trying to make excuses for two blue bloods that have done just that. it's ok, i'm sure your "career" doesn't involve any sort of analytical reasoning

That's what out of work means.

quote:

The last time he was hired

As a head coach. Come on man. No way to describe his only real time he had full responsibility as a head coach but as a miserable failure. Don't give me interim crap. Interim and full head coach is like night to day different.

offensive whizzes

Alleva jumps from wanting an offensive whiz to settling for a DL coach. Surely you can see humor in his clusterfrick hiring process. Hard to laugh since the joke is on LSU.

Freshman were allowed to play in 1972.
Solich coached in 1979-82.
Educate yourself.

You blame coach O for everything that game and that is your prerogative. I myself would question the running backs coach or offensive coordinator (TE's coach in this case) for the RB going the wrong way and not the head coach.

Apparently Saban did when his offense sputtered when up +30. Chewed Lanes @$$ for it too.

freshman were allowed to play but they largely did not, which is why freshman teams existed. regardless, i never said freshman weren't allowed to play in 1999. you flat out made that up. you also had no idea about frank solich's career prior to looking at his wikipedia page just admit it was a very small minded attempt to rebut something irrefutable...that Nebraska, a blue blood program, promoted a career position coach to head coach when Tom Osborne, a legend, retired

Solich had been a head coach. He was head coach of the freshman team. Deal with it.

Give credit to where it is due: Austin Thomas.
He got two top players out of Nashville, the other being Jacoby .
