UM economic only coveres bills only. Full on UM would cover pain/suffering or whatever if the other driver is under or uninsured.
Carry as much as you can afford.

So long story short....
We used it this year. My wife's medical insurance covered the bill, and State Farm reimbursed us for the TOTAL hospital amount not our co-pay. They then reported it to our health insurance. We then paid the difference to the health insurance.
