Of course, and Gc and Gf (math; engineering) could provide some specificity.

The problem isn't in the predictive validity of G, as that's long been established; the problem is using that information to provide specific recommendations and plans that will maximize an individual's ability, whatever it may be.

Your contention seems to stem from the lack of perfection in predictive capabilities of IQ tests. Would IQ tests allow us to better guide children? I think the answer is undoubtedly yes.
