Two years ago, I drove and split the drive by staying in southern Missouri for a night, but this year I'm considering flying into Omaha or maybe flying into Kansas City and driving the 3 hours to Omaha, or maybe just driving again so I save on flights and rental car and have my own car up there.

Thoughts and/or experiences with flying into Omaha or Kansas City?

Delta flies into Omaha from BTR. Stay in Council Bluffs, Iowa. It's a 10 minute drive from the stadium. The hotels have a shuttle that picked me up from airport and brought me to every game. CWS is a huge event for those people, they do everything they can to help our fans..especially LSU fans.

Only time I had to get a cab was when we went to the Zoo and the movies on a Wednesday when LSU didn't have a game.

ETA: Free Shuttle. Just tip generously, they love LSU fans and want to keep them loving us.

You are right about that. I've become good friends with several locals. Good people.

I want to go sooooo badly. Is it still worth the trip? Even with the new stadium?

I've been to both. Honestly, I had more fun at the old stadium with LSU not even in it than I did at the new stadium with LSU in it.

Have to really like baseball though.

I booked last year before season started and didn't jinx us.

Then again, I booked flight and hotel in Tampa for NCG for football this year before Wisconsin game..may have jinxed us.

Last time I checked, we didn't make it to Omaha last year.

Not sure where you want to stay but I've been several times and not familiar with the Downtown Omaha inn. Some advertise downtown but I don't think they are. It's nice to stay somewhere so you can walk to stadium and surrounding area.

I would like to go if LSU makes it. I went in 09 for my first trip. Made all of the LSU games except the second Arkansas game on Saturday and the first Texas game. Went back on that Monday night and saw games three and two with my brother. Will never forget that trip.
