Serious question. Has anybody ever seen a pit bull owner that isnt straight trash?

I know a married couple, early 30s, wealthy, white, Christian, conservative, etc. who own one pit bull and have fostered some others.

Yeah, but they are admittedly in a tiny minority.

I know Larry Benoit had two at one time. He does the Dick Russell training around the BR area. The reason i say he had two is because he had to put one down for being to aggressive. I'm typically one that will say it's all how you train a dog, but after talking to him and knowing that someone as knowledgeable as he is couldn't control his, then i just can't see owning one. They are just to volatile and strong to not cause problems.

Seriously, when I think about it.. No I have not. This is based on my observation, but living in a small town (and I am sure its like this on most places), there are certain parts of town where I see them often. And no, I am not just referring to "the hood". While that is one place I see them, the other are trailer parks. And the ones in trailer parks are usually the ones who defend having these dogs.

I am not getting into the whole story, but I remember one time this girl told me about her pitbull and how sweet is was.. It just loved her little girl. The kid was a baby and she was saying how the dog would just go lay on side of her... And all I could think about was.. "what about when that child is old enough to move around and decides to grab on the dog?". It just seems like having a load gun around..

Come on man. I have a lady friend who has one and hers is a teddy bear. Nothing trashy about her.

Yes, I have seen a friendly, well-behaved pit and pit owner. I get how you guys feel but the dogs are popular with those that do NOT raise/treat them well. They use them for guard dogs or fighting dogs. My neighbors dog is a big ole lap dog. It is a pure-bred American Staffordshire. Some of these others are mixed, I realize.
