If it's a major concern, just bring a pistol IMI. It's very unlikely you will ever get searched.

Been searched twice by LDWF when leaving Pearl River WMA by the exit. Both times checked licenses and then just asked to see the weapon I was hunting with.
Don't really wanna risk taking a chance on getting caught with a pistol during bow season and end up with a nice hefty ticket, or warden trying to confiscate my gun or possibly a deer if I was lucky enough to get one.
ETA: I've been hunting Big Branch NWR mostly lately and there's nothing that I saw in the BB regulations that prohibit carrying a pistol, so I do carry it there. Just wish the WMA's would allow it too.
