Tom Petty is pretty much a sure bet.

Lineup will likely come next Tuesday. Apparently someone is holding them up. FQF lineup this Tuesday.

I wasn't planning on Jazz Fest but if the Rolling Stones are there, I will book a flight that second lol

Rolling Stones

Their Havana show is on Starz right now. The entire track would need to be cleared to fit the crowd for Jazzfest.

Rolling Stones, even at a million years old, would be worth a ticket to that day

They would need to put a cap on ticket sales for that day or it will be an absolute nightmare

Yeah, some bands might be too big for the infield considering all of the other booths and stages

Would certainly skip Rolling Stones just because of the pure chaos.

Rolling stone could fill up that whole infield by themselves.

I get that the Stones are huge but I honestly don't think the crowd would be any larger than it was for Elton John.

Elton was on tour at the time. Rolling Stones will not be. So that alone would bring people from out of state who may not have otherwise come. It would probably be the biggest show in a long time at the fairgrounds.

They'd be better set to honestly just have Rolling Stones be part of Jazzfest but just do it in City Park

160,000 showed up for DMB in 2001.. I'm sure 16 years later they can handle the same.

They should just play in the Dome or Smoothie King Center. Saw them a couple years ago in Dallas. Would like to see them again.

by luck? honestly though, i have been there on some of the bigger days and it gets to a spot where i would be concerned about safety and manageability of the crowd should there be some sort of emergency (for an individual or more major)

It was Dave Matthews on Acura, and it was compounded by Mystikal on Congo (who had the #1 album in the country at the time). Those two stages had crowds backing up to each other at that time. It was immovable at that end of the fairgrounds--no way an emergency could have been handled. I stayed at the other end. Was it handled well? Only if you didn't need to use the bathroom or buy beer.

Some thought that the day with Elton John in 2015 rivaled that for attendance, but the Fest doesn't give out attendance figures anymore (assholes!).
