Your arse hurts if you think otherwise. Maybe Vandy was a tad too low of a comparison, so Here is one better. Kentucky. In fact, id say they are the perfect comparison. UK has a good football season every 3-4 years, just like we do in basketball. Other than that, its an utter shite show.

108 years. 21 tournament appearances.
Thats 1 tournament appearance every 5 years. 4 final four appearances. 4. Not 14 or 40, but 4.

Go ahead and compare that to the majority of SEC teams and try again, jackass

Apples to oranges comparison. You couldn't have more than one team in the NCAA tournament from a conference until the mid-1970s. The tournament was 32 teams until the mid-1970s and it didn't reach 64 until 1985.

Breaking it down further, LSU had a streak of 10 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances from 1984-93 (and had three consecutive appearances from 1979-81). That's not some trumped-up era from the 1930s. It's relatively recent. You don't make the NCAA tournament solely by winning the SEC tournament's automatic bid. LSU hasn't won the SEC tournament since 1980 (and they were second in the regular season that year as a top-10 ranked team all season) so all of their NCAA bids have been earned by solid regular seasons.

Want to guess how many Final Fours SEC rivals Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt have combined? Try zero. LSU is not North Carolina or Duke, but it damn sure isn't TCU or whatever dumb football comparison you want to make.

Historically, LSU is in the upper echelon of SEC schools in basketball. Those of us who care about LSU basketball want our place as a consistent force in this conference restored.
