I was a Nintendo fan boy growing up. Had a Nes and still have my Snes and n64. I skipped the gamecube, wii, wii u, and nds. During that time I was all about the sony and Microsoft consoles. Now I wanna catch up with all the great wii and wii u games. So I was thinking buy a wii u and just get all the great wii and wii u games on the cheap.

200 bucks direct from Nintendo. To the people with a wii u, is it worth it for someone like me? I hear wii games look like shite on HD tv. how does wii games look on the gamepad? The games I really want to focus on is the Zelda and Mario games.

If you can deal with an essentially dead system, it has the best library of Nintendo games since the SNES imo.

I got a wii u refurbished through gamestop and love it. Played oot, mm, and wind waker.

But it'd be tough to recommend you to buy one with the Switch so close.

The refurb should be fine quality. The gamepad is pretty neat.

Playing oot on a big HD TV was a bit odd at first but you get used to it.

You may need to get a wii motion controller to play the wii titles. Then link it to a standard controller.
