Go to an auto notary and get a new license plate. I refuse to pay these fricking extortion tickets. It would be one thing if the fine was like $25. But $175? Aint gonna happen.

I don't know about NOLA, but I know in BR, they don't boot non-payment of these tickets or have any consequences whatsoever. There is literally no consequence. See this link: LINK
