I honestly wish something like this would happen, but I'm not sure the people behind this proposal understand how badly a balanced budget would destroy the US economy. It would be much worse than the great depression IMO, and probably take decades to recover to current standards of living. But the alternative, continuing to "stimulate economic growth" by debasing the currency, is madness. A little honesty from our politicians and economic "experts" would be a good starting point for debate.
