"Oh...refreshing topic, blah blah..."

If Scott does somehow (not saying he will) win the Spring competition, he'll mostly have Deshaun Watson to thank. Not saying he's that good, but he's the closest LSU has. You have to think O and Canada were taking notes and thinking "THIS is the only chance we have to beat that team."

Don't make a case on the internet. Trust the unbiased offensive coordinator to chose the best player for LSU.

I hear he was the best QB in practice overall last season. This is definitely a 3 man competition.

Jesus man I almost feel bad for Scott because the expectations are out of control. I think he'll be a great one, but y'all need to be patient.

What's this whole idea about designing an offense to take advantage the strengths of your best players?

What you're describing is the antithesis of that. If Scott turns out to be the best player, he should play. If he's not, he shouldn't.

Well I guess there is no hope then. Because Scott is not Deshaun Watson.

I don't believe you.

You are utterly ignorant. They will start whoever they think gives them the best chance to move the ball up and down the field based on practice. Will have 00000000000 to do with Watson.

No Need to start Scott. either LSU needs to start an older QB Harris or Etling for one more year or needs to start over with Myles Brennan or Narcisse.

Don't put so much faith in the talking heads on ESPN, there is a reason why most of them are talking and not coaching. People like Tom Brady, Drew Brees, etc. make defenses much better than Bama's look silly on a weekly basis. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

Etling is the closest thing LSU has to Tom Brady. But not close enough to bother mentioning.

This was a great thought in your head wasn't it?

Not so much though.

I get what you're saying, but this is very dumb.

If coach O watched the game he probably said "it' a shame we don't have anyone who is as remotely gifted as Deshaun Watson."

Scott has as much of a chance as anyone to win the starting job. If he is the one that comes out of camp with the job then he earned it

Why?
I would think that they've been thinking (since the game happened) that we only needed 11 points to win this year.
We don't need Watson, or Newton, or Tebow at QB. Just someone who is capable of scoring 11 points.
So.. Someone on the level of Mike White, Austin Allen, Josh Dobbs, Trevor Knight, Sean White, Del Rio.

The point is.. They'll play the best QB. They won't play the best DT QB.

So you're comparing an undersized, not heavily recruited redshirt freshman to the best college player since Cam Newton. Seems like a stretch...
