Even worse than just getting out on foot on the interstate is getting out on foot on an elevated section of the interstate. At ground level drivers can at least run off the road as a last resort. In the elevated areas there are pretty much no options if there's not enough time to stop.

I think about it every time I travel that I-110 stretch. If your vehicle breaks down you're up shite creek, not only because of the confinement but also past the downtown areas you're in some of the most dangerous parts of Baton Rouge even if you do happen to make it to an exit.

This is why I get pissed off when a-hole cops pull people over on the shoulder of the interstate to write tickets for going 10 over
