In my experience, Dramamine works well, none of the non medical solutions I've used seems effective. I have not tried ginger pills but that seems to be somewhat effective, though less than Dramamine (based on tests I've read about plus a myth busters episode that tackles exactly this issue). No experience with the medication you indicated though I have friends who have used the patch others have suggested and swear by it.

FTR, I was seasick once 35 years ago and can tell you that once you get seasick, it crosses your mind every time you get on a boat (at least in similar situations) for a long time afterwards. That's as big a challenge as actually getting seasick.

Also, it's about the only time when you don't fell better after puking.
