Yeah I agree with that and those are some of the flaws of the movie. I'd still call it a western though for no other reason than it's gunfighting in the old west. Just maybe not a great western and certainly not deep.

I thought it was OK but unnecessary considering the 2 previous versions were already great. Getting tired of remakes.
I enjoyed In a Valley of Violence more, which paid tribute to classic B westerns instead of copying one.
